HFC-125 (FE-25) fire suppression agent

HFC-125 (FE-25)

High-purity total flooding agent — purity ≥ 99.8 %, ODP 0

Product Overview

HFC-125 (pentafluoroethane, CAS 354-33-6), also known as FE-25, is a clean fire suppression agent used in total flooding systems. It is a colorless liquefied gas with a low boiling point of −48.5 °C and a high vapour pressure, which allows fast and even distribution throughout the protected space, including in cold environments.

HFC-125 has zero ozone depletion potential, is electrically non-conductive and leaves no residue, protecting equipment and stored goods from water or powder damage. Its physical properties are close to those of Halon 1301, making it a practical choice for halon replacement in existing pipe networks. VerdantChem supplies HFC-125 at purity ≥ 99.8 % in ISO tanks, with full COA, TDS and MSDS.

Typical Applications

  • Total flooding systems

Frequently Asked Questions

What is HFC-125 used for in fire protection?+

HFC-125 is used in total flooding clean agent systems. Its high vapour pressure and low boiling point give fast discharge and good distribution, and its properties are close to Halon 1301.

Is HFC-125 suitable for occupied spaces?+

HFC-125 has a NOAEL of 7.5 %. Systems must be designed within the limits of the applicable standard (such as NFPA 2001 or ISO 14520) for occupied areas.

How is HFC-125 shipped?+

We ship HFC-125 in ISO tanks of 15–20 MT, with full dangerous goods documentation, COA and MSDS.

What is the MOQ and lead time?+

Samples are available for qualification. Commercial orders start from one DOT cylinder (500 kg) or one ISO tank (15–20 MT); typical lead time is 2–4 weeks after order confirmation. Contact our export team for current stock and a quotation.
