Precision Cleaning for Electronics
Reliable electronics start with controlled cleanliness. Selecting a cleaning chemistry means balancing contaminant removal, material compatibility, drying and environmental requirements—not simply choosing the strongest solvent.

When Invisible Contamination Causes Failures
Flux residues, machining oils, fingerprints and particles can interfere with bonding, coating and electrical performance. On densely packed assemblies, contamination trapped under components may contribute to corrosion or leakage currents. Visual inspection alone cannot establish cleanliness; acceptance criteria should reflect the assembly and its operating environment.
Plastics, elastomers, adhesives and protective coatings may react differently to the same cleaner. A process that removes oil effectively can still cause swelling, cracking or residues if compatibility and rinsing are not checked.
Solvent Cleaning or Water-Based Cleaning?
Solvent cleaning can suit oily soils, water-sensitive parts and processes needing rapid drying. Vapor degreasing requires a formulation compatible with the equipment and its operating conditions. Water-based cleaning can be preferable for water-soluble contamination or assemblies that tolerate rinsing and controlled drying; it also requires management of rinse quality and wastewater.
HFO-1233zd has a low global warming potential compared with many legacy fluorinated solvents. However, environmental performance and workplace safety depend on the complete formulation, including co-solvents. Low GWP does not mean non-hazardous or automatically compliant.
Recommended Products
Evaluate the HT Series solvent cleaners for precision cleaning and vapor degreasing, or the HTS Series water-based cleaners for compatible aqueous processes. Request model-specific TDS and SDS before selecting a grade.

Validation and EU Compliance Checks
Run trials on representative parts. Assess ionic contamination where relevant, non-volatile residue, drying time and material changes. Establish bath maintenance, filtration and ventilation requirements using the SDS and equipment instructions.
For EU supply, check applicable REACH obligations, CLP classification and labeling, and any F-gas requirements against the exact composition and intended use. Review current restrictions and customer substance declarations rather than treating HFO chemistry as blanket approval. Confirm documentation with your importer or compliance specialist.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can HT replace an existing solvent directly?+
Not without trials. Compare solvency, material compatibility, boiling behavior and equipment suitability for the specific HT model.
Is a low-GWP cleaner automatically EU compliant?+
No. Compliance depends on the full formulation, supply chain obligations and intended application; request current documentation.
How should we choose between HT and HTS?+
Share your soils, substrates, cleanliness limits and equipment so the options can be assessed before sample testing.
